Promised to the Vissigroth by Bella Blair

5.0

Brynn, the female human lead, is a warrior princess, because she was neglected by her father and created her own entertainment. Now grown, she’s effectively the military leader of the small human colony, and has recently been advised that she will marry the alien leader of the planet to secure the human claim to a resource found in their land.

Garwayn, the male alien lead, is disgruntled to have to mate/marry a human. Going to collect his bride, he’s shocked to find the humans under attack and acts to save them, rescuing a “hysterical” female who breaks his nose.

Neither expects their union to be more than business but the attraction between them is significant and ongoing and maybe they can make something more of it, even though the ruler of the planetary union is against human integration AND there are others out to take advantage of the resource in human territory…

This story is dual POV, well written, and a great addition to the series. I enjoyed the integration of the previous story’s lead characters and the relationship between these characters. I enjoyed Brynn’s strength and physical prowess, as well as her determination to succeed at the new role her union thrusts her into. I enjoyed Garwayn’s shock and growing respect for Brynn and his appreciation for who she is, and that he doesn’t expect her to become a normal lady. I enjoyed the erotic intimate scenes as well as the playfulness of the writing and between the characters.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
