Night's Master by Tanith Lee
4.0
'Night's Master' by Tanith Lee is the first book in the Tales from the Flat Earth. It was a recent pick for my online book club.
The book consists of a series of stories that are told in the manner of myths or fairytales. There is the indifference of the gods, the trickery of different characters, and fate dealt cruelly to undeserving victims. The difference is that the main character is a demon named Azhrarn who is orchestrating all of this for his pleasure. So, conisider this book a sort of collection of fairy tales for demons.
I really enjoyed reading these because the author nailed the language form of other myths and fairy tales I've read. The style feels a bit archaic, but that suited me just fine.
