Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

3.0

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book. The story of Kya growing up by herself in the marsh and all the descriptions of nature and her growing relationship with Tate. After that, I started to lose interest. I didn't buy into her
Spoilerrelationship with Chase
.
The murder mystery was sort of interesting, but I thought the court case dragged on. Then everything jumps and the whole story is wrapped up in a couple of chapters.
Was I surprised by the ending?
Spoiler Yes because I didn't see how it happened that way. I know it was set up by the comments about the insects, but at no point did she seem like the type of person who would do that. I also am not sure that Chase would have continued to pursue her. Also why did they never put her on the stand and ask whether she killed him?

If they make this into a tv series/movie I think they will end up making significant changes.
