When You Are Mine by Michael Robotham
4.0
Michael Robotham is an master of the quality thriller--I have NEVER been disappointed by one of his books. "When You are Mine" is stand-alone, with a new lead, policewoman Philomena McCarthy. She's wanted to be in the police ever since childhood, when she saw a policewoman act heroically during a bombing. It's a funny choice of career for someone from a crime family.
In this novel Phil will challenge the police Old Boys' Club, start a feud with a decorated officer who's also a batterer, and risk her beloved career. This may not be Robotham's very best book but it is still impossible to put down.
I do wish he'd come up with better titles. This one's would give you little idea of what a good read hides between the covers.
