A Mouse Called Julian by Joe Todd-Stanton

5.0

Oh I'm a fan of Joe Todd-Stanton and from now on I will read anything he does!

This story broke my heart and pieced it back together while making me laugh. How does someone is able to do that in 40 pages? I'm in awe.
The story is a little mouse who tries to survive the wild, and keeps to herself. It's a lonely life but she likes it that way. One day a fox tries to eat her but stays stuck in the mouse's nest. Reluctantly, she helps him. After that, she's lonely again, and finds herself missing the fox. Until he saves her life in the most hilarious way. After that, they're friends and it's not such a bad life to have someone to share your meals.

The illustrations are CUTE and so damn FUNNY. I loved them. They capture so many expressions and emotions, I was really impressed. They were a lot of details that kids will love to spend time watching. The story and text were great, dealing with the themes of loneliness in a lovely way.

I would 100 per cent recommend this!
