ALI HAZELWOOD!!!!!!!!!!! She never misses. This is the third book I've read of hers, and they keep getting better. I did not know what to expect from this as it was her first fantasy novel but it was amazing. The politics were so good and I loved her spin on Vampyres and Werewolves. The angst and the yearning in this were top-tier. Misery was very relatable for me because I've struggled with my sense of belonging my entire life so I saw a lot of myself in her. She was also hilarious, and I giggled aloud through the entire book. Lowe is the perfect match for her as well, he accepts her for exactly who she is and matches her energy every step of the way. I love him so so much, he's the Alpha to everyone else but the biggest golden retriever when it comes to Misery. I was also on the edge of my seat the entire time trying to guess
where Serrena might be. It never occurred to me that her father was behind literally everything and I let out the biggest gasp when it was revealed. I knew he was evil but seeing as Misery didn't think he would ever stoop that low I didn't either.
Overall this was such a good read and I hope she plans on writing a second book in this universe even if it's not focused on Misery and Lowe. There are so many characters and plotlines I'd love to read more about. Especially,
Owen's transition into power and all the changes he's going to make.
I can't wait to get my hands on another one of Ali's books.
