💌 The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
If the sufferings of people due to political, societal, and cultural differences ever needed a definition then 'The Kite Runner' will be the epitome of that definition. I am shocked at how powerful and heartbreaking this book is. It felt so real as if I was living in Amir and Hassan's life as a side character. The book had so many shades in it and the vicious cycle could not be broken. Everyone had to feel the pain, love, loss, and disgust of the characters even if the reader is not going through with it in real life. I have loved the book in so many ways and I knew it the moment I read the phrase "FOR YOU, A THOUSAND TIMES OVER" I will not reveal the story and all I will say is that it is worth a read and trust me it is heavy. The characteristics of all the people in the book stuck to the roots and beliefs just the way Khaled wanted to. As much as I adored Rahim Khan there were moments when I have been angry at him too. And the same about Amir. I never thought I could ever forgive him but by the end of it, I loved him no matter how hurtful he was. But it's all about redemption that he craved so much. That is what made him a human who deserves to live in the world, someone who is ready to accept all the mistakes and flaws he had as a child.
