How to Disappear by Gillian McAllister

3.0

McAllister writes great thrillers, but man these characters were ANNOYING.
SpoilerIf you break every single rule while in witness protection, then don't act astonished when your lives are once again in danger, jesus christ. And that ending! I also feel very certain that you don't get put into witness protection as a result of lying during a trial and the people who were on trial homicidally hating you as a result. Like, I don't think "people want to kill me" is the basis for the state paying for you to go into witness protection? You're not a witness they want to protect? Anyway, I kept lurching between "how is this ludicrous arrangement being approved" to furious annoyance at every single decision every character made.
Despite that rant, it's still 3 stars because McAllister is a good writer and I was there for the ride.
