I think it’s a bit bold that the summery of this book just says “light hearted lesbian love story” and nothing about how the girl lives with her alcoholic mum that relapses throughout the book and the shame she feels about that on top of being poor. I mean sure the narrator is funny and lighthearted but this storyline still came out of nothing for me and really hit me emotionally. Hope that helps other potential readers.
