This was good. I couldn't drop it till I was finished. I absolutely love Cade and Silas omg.

Immediately the book opens up, we're thrown right into the story and the mcs, Cade and Silas, meet 3 chapters in. I loved how evenly paced the story was, loved how the author showed us the progression of their friendship before they transitioned into lovers. The writing style made the book so easy and fun to read too. I have only praise on that front.

The first half of the book was insanely perfect. We got to see how their 'rivalry' stemmed from preconceived notions they had about each other and we got to see how they let go of them as they got to know each other. The second half though is where the book started to go downhill a bit.

The relationship between Cade and Silas was far from perfect but oh, it was so so beautiful. They each had their own shit to deal with but they came together and just fit! Their communication with each other was okay, kinda wonky but not horrible imo. I wish they'd discussed their relationship better because a lot of misconceptions did arise from that but they talked it out fairly quickly so it wasn't so bad. They also had crazy chemistry?? like I could feel it through the pages!! Also need to say that Cade was definitely my favorite character, I love him so so so much!

I appreciate the author pushing the message that falling in love doesn't immediately resolve all your mental health issues. Cade pushing Silas to go to therapy and get better for both his sake and the sake of their relationship was such a necessary part of the book because the miscommunication was getting out of hand and it wouldn't have gotten better if Silas didn't get out of his head and get help. I'm glad the author included it.

I'm docking off stars because of the insane amount of sex scenes. The moment they finally let themselves admit what they felt for each other around the 50% mark, its like a dam broke. There's over 10 scenes in the book. I just felt after a while that the novelty of it all wore off and the author made their relationship a bit too sex focused. A lot of the quiet intimacy we'd been introduced to in the first half suddenly dwindled to glimpses and I was not the biggest fan of that.

I STILL ENJOYED IT THOUGH! It feels good after an entire week of 1-2 star reads!
