Is it everything i'd expect from literary fiction for grown-ups, no.
Is it everything i'm looking for in a YA classic, though? Yes. Thoughts on family and friends and romance, lots of humor, some philosophizing (but a fantastic combo, somehow, of both more upfront and less fraught than usual as it goes about it), a plot that rolls along and a flat-out amazing premise that hooked me immediately.
I may well read this one again someday, and i don't have much higher praise than that. :)
