In general, I enjoy memoirs and autobiographies. Learning about Loretta Lynn's younger years and upbringing was the best part of the book. It is amazing how quickly she gained fame once she set out to do that. In the latter half it seems she is trying to explain or justify many of her actions, or the stories of her, after becoming famous, which may be a somewhat necessary thing to do for all celebrities, but can begin to sound self-important. It was good, just wasn't the "great" I was expecting.
