Know Me See Me by Hinsel Meyer
5.0
5 stars
I loved Derek since the first book, he seemed a steady guy, reliable, the one who you know will always have your back. I loved that he and Mike had an amazing friendship and that they were able to protect it even if sometimes they indulged in a physical relationship to blow off some steam.
Derek is a protector, a loyal friend who will do anything to take care of the people he loves (I adored the scene during the photoshop when he pushes Mike to take off his shirt and to not care what others may think about his body).
Being the awesome man he is, Derek becomes very close to the Storm brothers: I adored how this book wasn't focused solely about Dee and Hawk's love story, but also about the friendship the three of them shared; Derek wasn't only Hawk's soulmate, but he was also a brother to Wolf and he never ever left him alone.
The scene at the therapist office, when Derek sits between Hawk and Wolf, is one of my favourite: Derek would do anything to help his friend, he never even considered that Wolf could be away from them. Maybe some readers may think they're too codependent, but I think it's just the way they love each others. Until Wolf will be ready to let go of the demons of his past and to love someone, Derek and Hawk will be there for him.
There are a few bumps on the road to happiness, Hawk is so adorably hopeless sometimes (especially about his own sexuality) but luckily Dee's a patient man and all is good at the end. There are also sad moments, especially when the brothers remember their mother, but when they decided it's time to face their pain and play their mom's music it's absolutely beautiful.
I used to believe Mike was my favourite character, but after reading this book Derek is right there with him.
I'm sure we'll see a lot of him again in Wolf's book (I beg the author to speed things up and give us his story soon!)
I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review
