My girls love this book, so I read it as well. I had a hard time with the story. I think the basic story was sweet. But, I like my stories to be realistic and I’m not sure how real the CF was in this story. Would someone with 35% lung function be able to do all the things Stella was doing? I also read from a mom’s perspective and struggled with the teens’ seemingly reckless behavior. I have read enough YA lit to see the appeal for my teens. For me, this one is liked but not loved.
Graphic: Medical content and Chronic illness
