***was given this ARC in return for a honest review***

Where to begin, I have read other books by Tess Oliver, mainly familiar with her Custom Culture series (BIG FAN of that), and she has not let us down with this.

This book takes places in a mining county and ones prospects are not in abundance, you are either from south of the tracks mainly miners and their family, and known as Torgs (Kellan Braddock) or north of the tracks, this consists of the mining investors and their family and known as Highlanders (Rylan Merritt).

From the beginning Rylan is seen as a strong character at a young age in that she goes against the norm and her family by falling in love with Kellan the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Even though their love was very hush hush it was known around the community. Something drastic occurred on their graduation night that saw Rylan leaving for college with a broken heart and that fire spirit that she had seemed diminished and easy pickings for her current fiancé, but lets just say she finds it back in spades, when you read this you’ll see what I am talking about. For the next 7 years Kellan work in the mines with his best buddies (Huck & Dawz) and sleeping his way through women trying to forget the one that gotta way. When Rylan and Kel are reunited its was as if 7 years apart disappeared, their love for each other in no way distinguished no matter how much other have tried to separate them.
Tess’ writing style is AMAZING! Throughout reading this I felt as if I was there with the characters, feeling and seeing everything they were going through. There was a bathroom scene I would recommend you listen to The Weeknd, it totally sets it up.
Her secondary characters play an epic role and can’t wait to see if more of them.
