All We Shall Know by Donal Ryan

Did not finish book.
It's rare for me to give up on a book. Especially a short book with amazing reviews. But at 39 pages (of 180), I can't find a reason to keep reading.

I couldn't connect with the protagonist, Melody, at all. She causes the end of her marriage when she gets pregnant with the child of a teenager she was tutoring. She then waivers constantly between wanting to kill herself and not going through with it. Roughly 25% into the story, she has done nothing of consequence that wasn't in the first paragraph. Perhaps that's the point, but I won't be finishing this one.

As always, when I abandon a book before the end, I don't rate it. That doesn't seem fair, rating a book I haven't read.
