“Careful with your threats of my untimely death, love, or you might end up stealing my heart.”

An easy ☆☆☆☆☆!

Hooked right from the beginning, I couldn’t get enough of this book. The way I fell for Peter Pan as a kid, I fell just as hard for The Ever King as an adult. The adventure, the tension, the magic and romance had me on the edge of my seat and staying up late to get another few chapters in, even when I could barely hold my eyes open.

With a dual POV and two MCs you can’t help but love, The Ever King is a fast paced enemies to lovers story with pirates, sirens and fae. It features a really interesting magic system and in-depth world building that’s not overly heavy with detail. I found it super easy to fall into the story with ease whilst getting to know our main characters. There’s strong mental health representation with anxiety, panic attacks and PTSD that’s done well too.

A book where the morally grey character with a secret heart of gold gets the girl? Of course I was always going to love this series. But Erik Bloodsinger has easily made the list of my favourite MMCs. I can’t wait to see where the next book takes our Serpent and Songbird!
