Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree
4.5
After reading Legends & Lattes, I was looking forward to this prequel ever since it was announced - and I ended up enjoying it even more than the previous book!
Part of it was that as someone who doesn't like coffee, I can relate more to a bookshop than a coffee shop, but I also absolutely loved Fern and the rest of the eccentric characters. While I would still class this book as cozy fantasy like the previous one, it also had enough mystery and adventure to keep the action going, with a hint of cute romance. The audiobook format, narrated by the author himself, was the cherry on top of a magical story.
I highly recommend it for anyone who looks for a short, magical fantasy escape from reality!
