I thought I was going to like this book a bit more, but it has some problematic things going on.
First, for a long time, the protagonist is dating a character that is not my style of person.Ultimately, I hope nobody likes Alain, but for me, I disliked him from the very beginning, and him proposing a trio was a fact from the moment he mentioned his ex/friend being bi curious. Yet, I was not expecting the sexual assault part, which was horrible to listen to/read. When, then, Alan acts like an extreme asshole, I felt the situation was a bit unrealistic. The book, could be said, it's darker than expected at some point, and I believe that was unnecessary.
There's also the fact that all the characters seem to be conventionally attractive/fit/thin. It bores me, and it makes me suspicious of Alexis Hall beauty standards... I personally prefer authors that are more open-minded and diverse regarding how people worth of love look like.
