I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
5.0
you bitches are sick in the fucking head.
literally couldn’t get through a page without crying.
i love the idea that everyone is interconnected and some people are meant to be in your life and soulmates and you’ll always be led down path you’re meant to go down even if it’s in the most unexpected way. like people are meant to be in your life, but it’s not always at the right time so the universe steps in so that you can collide at just the right time and everything will work out and good people do bad things.
and GOD i love sibling relationships. any type of family relationship makes me sick to my stomach, but siblings specifically make me feel absolutely vile. like they’re so complicated and full of love and jealousy and you hurt each other and understand each other like no other and it’s so beautiful and—
i love how the characters in this are all so imperfect and REAL but they are GOOD and want to be good and do good and they love each other and are PEOPLE who make mistakes and can be forgiven and can heal. they all feel so real, and there were so many times where i was disappointed in them, but even in that disappointment i loved them and wanted to tell them that it was okay and they weren’t evil. they’re just people, and they’re allowed to do shitty things and still be good.
this was the worst thing to ever happen to me i will never be the same!!!!!
i love brian and noah (he’s literally me) and jude and oscar so much my heart is SO SO full!!!!
such a magical and pure and beautiful and raw book!!!
