Murder in Matera: A True Story of Passion, Family, and Forgiveness in Southern Italy by Helene Stapinski

3.0

I really liked the genealogical mystery at the heart of this book and enjoyed Stapinski's writing but the frequent passages of conjecture about the feelings and motivations of her ancestors detracted from how interesting the facts were. The lapses into fiction were not as strong as the journalism.
