America #8 by Gabby Rivera, Jordan Gibson, Joe Rivera, Joe QuiƱones

I sort of forcing myself to get through this series at this point.

The writing style still doesn't work for me. I feel like we jump from plot to plot a little too quickyl for me to wrap my head around everything that's been happening, even with the wrap ups at the start of each issue.

I really love the art, though.

I think part of why I'm not so jazzed about this series is that I would love to see a more cohesive series that's similar to the format in other books. It's fine that this is different, it's just not for me.

I must say, I wish we could see America in a healthy relationship with a girl that hasn't tried to sell her out or iced her out because of some bullshit. Apparently, I'm just not going to get that. I guess it's just shaking everything I thought I knew about the character from Teen Brigade and Young Avengers. America didn't seem like the type to hop from messy relationship to messy relationship. She also didn't seem the type to be so forgiving of people fucking her over?

Also, I'm confused by Brightly talking about banning portals and teleportation. Have I missed something where this is a common thing because, as far as I know, these restrictions will only prevent America from using her powers and no one else?

I own through to issue #11 because it was on my pull list but I think I'm hopping off this train. I want to support the character but I haven't been enjoying this series at all. That's a such a bummer.
