Salt: A World History by Mark Kurlansky

3.0

I have also read Kurlansky's Basque History of the World. I walked away from this book much the same as that one. Topic doesn't sound very interesting, author does well with the topic, throws in some interesting tangents, and at the end I am happy I read it for the knowledge gained but ultimately it does not leave me intrigued. I had to read this book for a paper I did in a class and honestly I would read another Kurlansky book down the road, but only after recharging with some more interesting material first. If you have any desire to learn about salt, pick it up, otherwise maybe wait till later.
