Madrid is a big city surrounded by several smaller towns making it a day-trippers paradise. Unfortunately, this guidebook has almost no information about any of them. When it comes to the big museums like El Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen, it has a map of well-selected highlights that helps you find the famous must-see works.
Apart from that, Madrid isn't a city of landmarks like Paris or London. Get a map of the metro and the museums elsewhere. ask some locals about bars and restaurants. Google day trips to Segovia and Toledo. Save yourself a few bucks.
