The Maid by Nita Prose

5.0

I devoured "The Maid" by Nita Prose, and I'm absolutely captivated! This quirky mystery novel takes us on a thrilling journey alongside Molly Gray, a delightfully eccentric hotel maid (it's like Ove and Eleanor Oliphant had a child). When she stumbles upon a murder in the suite of the infamous Charles Black, Molly's world is turned upside down. The author's unique blend of mystery, thriller, and crime genres keeps you guessing until the end.

Molly Gray is a character like no other!  Molly's world becomes a captivating enigma with her struggle to navigate social situations and her gran's simple rules as her guiding light. Molly's quirky demeanor attracts suspicion and unexpected allies as she becomes the prime suspect. The author skillfully weaves a Clue-like, locked-room mystery that keeps you on your toes, and the heartwarming journey of self-discovery adds depth to the narrative.

"The Maid" is a true gem that will leave you enchanted. Prose's writing style showcases her talent for creating endearing and relatable characters. The story not only explores the intricacies of solving a murder but also delves into the importance of human connection. It reminds us that the human heart can triumph even in the most unusual circumstances. This book deserves every bit of its five-star rating! Â
