From the very beginning you are thrown into the emotions of Simon Connolly. Through a first person perspective, you get the chance to see through Simon's eyes and discover the human being that was his son, Jake. I found myself emotionally invested, and unable to put the book down. I tend to lean more towards fantasy novels, so I was hopeful this book would be able to grab my attention, and it did not let down.
