The Scorch Trials by James Dashner

3.0

I don't know that this is a popular opinion, but I thought this was a lot better than the first book. This series still drags things out too much without giving answers, but it felt a lot less artificial this time. The main characters had slightly less illogical motivations. It really needed more character development. If Thomas is going to continue to distance himself from everyone, it would help a lot to show the other characters interacting. Thomas kept being asleep during big scenes and getting everything summarized by one person. Despite being the second novel, I cared about even less characters. It didn't frustrate me nearly as much, so I still count it as a big improvement.
