The only reason this isn't a 5 star is because I just getting get that 5 star feeling, but wow, was it close. The found family is so heartwarming, and at the same time, everyone is so badass individually. Maybe it was the use of different perspectives, but every character feels fleshed out to at least an above average level. They all feel like real people who have real history, personalities, and aspirations.
I was gonna take a break from the duolgy and read something else in between, but I'm excited to just jump into the next one now.

Would re-read.
Would recommend.

(Also, I wouldn't expect the amount of violence and gore that there is here in a YA novel, but it isn't excessive, and it's done tastefully. It was always within context and genuinely evoked a reaction and emotion instead of just being for shock value.)
