Will I ever finish a book by this man and not cry over the final chapter?
He is astonishing at writing family, empathy, the human endeavour. But his unsung triumph in my opinion is that he is THE great chronicler of mental illness. Beneath an intellectual and impressive exterior is the largest heart in fiction.
