This is the book I wish I had as a teenager!!

I absolutely adored reading this. It was funny, emotional, thought provoking, everything you want from a good book & from a YA too?! Incredible.

As a fellow autistic, there were many MANY parts I related to & so many funny references that made perfect sense to me. There were also moments that really hit me in my feels, things I could never put into words that Jackie has so amazingly done.

The main thing I loved about this was how you do not have to be autistic to read this, at all. Jackie has helped the reader understand what it's like to be autistic, she has put the reader in Jessie's shoes in the best way. I, of course, couldn't relate to Jessie's identity issues as a Palestinian in Canada but again, I could feel where the author drew from for this & it genuinely was an honour to read.

Whilst I am well aware not every autistic person is the same, the issues Jessie faces on a daily basis, for me, is very relevant to a female teenage autistic. I hope this book helps neuro-typical readers understand is a bit more ✨️
