On Women by Susan Sontag

3.5

contrary to popular opionions / goodreads reviews, sontag’s essays on fascism—specifically the passages in which she explored the aestheticization & sexualization of fascism/fascist projects—were perhaps most compelling to me! altho i’ve never read aging theory yet & sontag’s intro to it, explicating the dramatic depreciation of women’s cultural value & her claim to power (power is beauty which must be a self-negating power, acc to sontag), etc, felt very important & very sad to me. it’s fun here!
