I struggled getting into this because it was such a heavy book emotionally, but once I got in, I was in and hooked. There's something about reading the horror about World War 2 and the concentration camps of Nazi Germany that impacts, mostly knowing because it's true.
Also, Cilka's ending has me utterly heartbroken for the woman and I just want to scream and shout about how unfair it all is.
