Grim Witchery by Eva Chase

3.0

I'm not quite sure how this story is going to wrap up with only one more book...but I'll bite.

Now that Rory has her mother back in her life, she's trying to balance having a mother and also her mother's agenda. I do feel like there's more to Rory's mother then what we are seeing, but at the same time, she's agreeing to some pretty horrible changes. I, for one, cannot see the point in all of the changes they are making regarding the Naries and why anyone would think this is a good idea. This book almost feels like a direct response to what is going on in our political system currently. And while I am all for artist expression regarding the horrible state of our country, it didn't really feel all that natural here.

I am really liking the changes in the groups dynamic. It's nice to see them all working together with a common goal in mind. They are actually listening and coming up with solutions to try to avoid war. This is more than I can say about their parents.

With only one book left, I'm interested to see how Chase wraps this up. There seems like so much more story to tell for only one more book. But here I go...
