Puzzled: Secrets and Clues from a Life Lost in Words by David Astle

funny informative lighthearted slow-paced

4.0

I picked up this book to learn more about cryptics but was pleasantly surprised at the format and the writing. The weaving of cryptic guidance with personal anecdote feels effortless and the book is filled with practical examples. The only thing was the copy I read had personal recommendations from Bill Leak and Geoffrey Rush printed on the back...2 people who I wouldnt be in any hurry to be associated with in 2021. But am glad I didn't let it put me off, this book is worth a read if you're just getting into cryptics!
