This book is sooo much better than the first one. I was so close to DNFing Throne of Glass when it was dragging in the middle, but I heard that the series got really good from
book 3 on, so I stuck it out. Now that I’ve read this book, the first one feels almost unnecessary. I know a lot of the information in book 1 was critical for book 2, but it made Throne of Glass almost feel like it was all a set up for the main story, and that’s why it was so tough to get through for me. Crown of Midnight had so much more action, and the pieces of the story started to come together in ways that kept me engaged. Either way, I’m much more intrigued by the overall plot now, and I’m looking forward to the next one!
