Have you ever finished a book with an ending that made your jaw drop, and then immediately turn back to the first few chapters to reread them so that you can simply understand? Understand the place and time the story finds the characters in, understand what had happened?
If so, you have read this book.
If you have not, then you should.

Graphic: Infidelity, Suicidal thoughts, Suicide, Toxic relationship, and Murder
Moderate: Cancer, Incest, and Classism
There is some harmful language about a character with mental disabilities, which is standard of the time. There is a large age gap between the main character and her husband (21 years). There is incest in the book, but it does not occur between the main character and her husband.
