Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

1.0

Updated: 26/feb/2017

I recently started revamping all of my reviews. I'm trying to make them more concise, especially the bad ones.

Parental Advisory: includes strong language and hate
You are advised to stay away from what I have to say if you are a) a fan of this book or b) sensitive towards profane vocabulary.

This was not beautiful. But sure, it was a fucking disaster.

The horrible plot
It was certainly a convenient blend of serendipity (or rather, impossibility) and stupidity. Fueled by the equally awful if not worse characterization, there is literally nothing to see here.

The dismal characterization
Abby Abernathy, a.k.a. Pidgeon/Pidge: Has approximately the IQ of said creature. Dumb, annoying, indecisive and useless. Lacks common sense.
SpoilerShe had sex with Travis while she was the girlfriend of Parker. After having sex with Travis she leaves Travis. Hello? I am very fucking confused.

Travis "Mad Dog" Maddox: Ze Bad Boy. Muscly and handsome, it only stands to reason that every person without a Y chromosome should strip for him. Pre-Abby, Travis is a womanizer. Post-Abby, he's a fucking savage. He smashes peoples' faces just because they offend Abby. Do you beat someone to the point where they bleed and whimper simply because they're a jerk? He's a primitive beast with anger issues. Sick, sick, sick.

Parker: Sad little plot device who Abby rejected for Travis.

Oh, and how the fuck does this disaster of a book get an average rating of 4.13? Heavens above!
