Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski

2.0

I'm shocked that this book is rated higher than the previous entry. Parts of it are certainly better, but there are so many odd and problematic views on women and how they are treated and characterized. Or the fact that a man is told he's going to be used as a stud and is just totally fine with it like, "Yeah bro, this is awesome."

The best parts are connecting Geralt to Ciri and I suspect the following novels will be better because of that. This is the heart of the stories, the games, and the show. The rest is just filler and, while often entertaining, is also often boring and problematic.

2 stars seems harsh, but it really was just "ok". I'll keep reading because I love this world and Geralt + Ceri.
