The Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb

The pacing in this book is an improvement compared to the rest of the Realm of the Elderlings so far, but outside of that nothing else is really operating at the same level. I've enjoyed returning to the world & concerns of the story of the Liveship Traders, but the excitement of the story and the depth of the characters from those books is largely missing here. Still, Hobb does not need to be working at the height of her powers to make a good book, and that's what this is.
