This was just ok. 

If you like really detailed battle scenes then this is the book for you! The battles go on for 10's of pages which is interesting the first few times but after 700 pages of book it gets old really quickly. I would have appreciated a map or a diagram of the castle, it was really hard to visualise what was going on

I had to do so much work just to understand the plot! The ways its written holds you at arms length (despite the fact that you're in someone's head) which means that I have no sense of what any of the characters are like or even what they look like. 

The female characters are portrayed terribley, they're al basically someone to be raped (though the captain stops this happening through sheer force of will
