Again with the recaps! This is NOT necessary. Nobody is picking up the 3rd book before reading the 1st & 2nd. We know all this information. Stop being repetitive for the sake of a higher word count. Honestly I wanted to DNF only 2 pages in because of this, and it went on for several chapters. As much as I love this story, I had to take away a star for this issue alone. And for the love of fae, find a different adjective to replace brawny. Replace baritone, niggle, ephemeral, and kitty-corner too while you’re at it. There are also a significant amount of typos in this one. And can we PLEASE stop making the female main character do stupid shit to further the plot??? There were 3 male main characters RIGHT THERE that could have been the ones to act foolish. Idk about other readers, but I prefer to actually like the lead female character whose life I am forced to experience through 1st person pov. Second-hand embarrassment is not enjoyable! And this was her second major offense. I initially took away another star for that, but the rest of the story is so good it was earned back. But seriously, let’s pretend just for a second that fae who are hundreds of years old might know better than an early twenties human. It’s giving Feyre Darling. The love between the characters is deep and believable, I’ll give it that. And we love a book with spice that also has a great story. If all the spicy scenes were removed the plot would still be very engaging and have readers so interested they’d beg for more. But please keep the spice, it is delicious! And finally, the unexpected twist at the end of this book is responsible for gaining back that last star. (Almost lost it again with the bonus chapter nonsense though.) I love a book that can surprise me! Although I’m a little nervous to see where this new development will lead…
