The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness

4.0

This book has a nifty conceit: split up the two main characters from Book 1 and tell the story from each of their perspectives. But it fails to capture quite the same emotional heart as Book 1, and the ending is merely a cliffhanger for the finale. A perfectly serviceable midpoint to the trilogy, but not quite as good as the first part.
