The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

emotional sad tense medium-paced

Wow, I can’t remember the last time I had to put a book aside every few pages to digest it and think it over before continuing reading.
The beauty of the prose makes you want to savour every paragraph but at the same time the story is so easy to read that you will want to finish it in one sitting. Will definitely re-read it again.

For me, the main takeaway from this book is that it’s Achilles’s human traits that made him great and not the god-like.
His relationship with Patroclus is one of the most emotional and tender depictions I’ve ever read.
