Deal With the Devil by Lark Taylor

I didn’t think it was possible but the third installation of The Reckless Damned series by Lark Taylor is so far the best. Not only is this uncommon - let’s be honest people, the third book in a series is not usually the best - but I didn’t think anyone could take Harlow’s place in my heart. I am so happy to be proved wrong with the amazing River!

I was one of the lucky people who received an ARC of this fantastic mm novel.

Deal with the Devil is centered around River getting the help of Mori to find his brother, however he cannot let him know he is anything more than a human. Which becomes difficult when all he wants is to jump his bones and ride him till sunday. Unlike Devil May Care which had so much angst and heartbreak in it (How Dare that happen to sweet Bailey) Deal with the Devil has just enough to keep it interesting while also not breaking our hearts. Mori has wanted a mate for as long as we have known him, his wanting to protect his human lover as the original catalyst for Mori, Harlow and Cal leaving Hell forever to begin with. However, he has already lost someone he loves before, so while the idea of a mate is lovely the actual fact of a mate causes Mori to question himself and what is the right decision. This is a HEA so we KNOW they end up happy, mated and in love but the way in which Lark gets them there was, in my opinion, the perfect mix of angst and action. I am really excited to see how Dagon is rounded up and brought to his HEA in the next book.
