This is the story of "I" (Sobri) and Dinda also Tegar and Tara. Sobri loves Dinda although the love is not smooth. Tegar loves Tara, also although the love is not smoth. The Blasia circus is the center of the story that make all of those people met. Sobri is the one that really happy to get a job as a circus clown. Dinda is the girl that is loved so much by the clown. Tara is the daughter of the circus boss. Tegar eventually is becoming another important member of the circus. Tegar and Tara have a similar past pain and sadness.

In the beginning the story is a bit confusing because there are two perspective combination of the narrative. From the first person, in the chapter involving Sobri. But also from the third person, in other chapters. A style that I have never seen in other novel, maybe just because I haven't read enough novel.

As Andrea Hirata fans, I found this novel is a bit bland. Maybe because I don't like clown and circus as the main theme. Most the character doesn't feel really live. Dinda seems really passive and just act to feel the gap. The relationship between Tara and Tegar also still feel a bit distance.
