Betting On You by Lynn Painter
3.0
✈️Review✈️
Whew, this one too me a while. And that has nothing to do with the quality of the book. First I was sick with pneumonia and then I got so busy at work I just didn’t have time to read. Luckily it’s an extra long weekend so I’ve got time to catch up.
I’m always a fan of Lynn Painter’s writing. I tend to enjoy her adult novels more than her YA ones but I enjoy them all as a whole. This was a cute one! Not my favourite from her but definitely an enjoyable time.
I liked Bailey and Charlie a lot. Bailey is also the name of my cute pup so I might be a little biased. I’ve also always loved the name Charlie for a boy or a girl (short for Charlotte). Liked the witty banter and the meet cute in the beginning. The betting stuff seemed slightly irrelevant and just an excuse for a miscommunication and “break up” later on when all is revealed, which of course we knew would happen. But the couple had chemistry and had the whole friends to more thing going which I always enjoy.
A bit long and could’ve ended soon after the weekend away part but I did enjoy when Charlie cancelled his party the minute Bailey needed him and that was after the ski weekend so I’ll let it go.
Very cute! Fun read.
