Based on books by Liane Moriarty I've read in the past, I wasn't expecting this one to be quite so reflective. I thought this would lean more heavily on a thriller vibe, but that definitely took a back seat to me. Don't get me wrong. The way this was written, specifically the layout of the chapters, had me on the edge of my seat more than once. But when I step back and look at the book as a whole, it definitely was more thought invoking than anything.
Some of the predictions had me thinking the worst of some of these people. Like Eve, whose prediction was she would die by DV. Does her brand new husband kill her? Does she cheat and that person ends up killing her? This is where more of that thriller aspect came into play for me.
I still enjoyed this book, but it turned out to not be exactly what I was expecting. If you've enjoyed Liane Moriarty's writing in the past, I'd say to still give this a chance. Just don't go into it expecting a heavy thriller aspect.

The ending was a bit of a let down for me. I was really excited for Liane Moriarty to weave the paranormal into a thriller, and then she just chalks it up to coincidence. Even with the little tidbit in the end that shows maybe they each changed their own destiny, you're just left feeling like, "That's the ending?" It's probably meant to be more thought-invoking, but I wanted the paranormal.
