Very slow in the beginning. I had trouble getting into the book, not really caring about the characters or the story but at the 60% mark it definitely started to pick up for me. The last third of this book was great and made it worth not stopping earlier. It ended on a cliffhanger, the stories finally connected. I would like to know how it ends but I have not yet decided when and if I will read the second book, though I lean more towards reading it sometime in the future
