Mario and The Stones by Katy Sloop Roberts

5.0

This book is short and sweet and bound to put a smile on your face. The story of Mario the lazy man and the mysterious magical Luna and her cat Fortuna is kind of like walking into a hug. The characters are fun, the story is surprising and the taste of Italy just divine. This book is aimed at kids between 8-12 but it would make a terrific read aloud to younger children as well. It has the timeless quality of a folk tale and is sure to make an impression on its young readers. There is a second book in the series as well which I am looking forward to reading. Definitely a book that parents and their children should enjoy and discuss together.
