The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley

2.0

This book made me wonder: does an interesting twist and ending of a book outweigh the less-than-enjoyable beginning and middle of it? I’m not so sure.

I was impressed with another Lucy Foley crazy twist (also see: The Guest List) as well as a very interesting interconnecting plot slow burning with Easter-egged details. However, the characters seemed so undesirable to me and I found it quite challenging to root for the protagonist. Was there character development? I’m not so sure.

I picked up this book wanting a quick paced mystery that I could dive into, and ultimately found myself disappointed with a story I didn’t find the heart to track.

Lastly, could we talk about how and why all of the characters needed to hook up with each other?
